철푸덕 (cheolpudeok)

What it means

The FLOP of a body hitting the floor — falling flat, or collapsing in exhaustion.

When you'll see it

Someone trips and goes face-first onto the ground, or is so tired they just drop where they stand — 철푸덕. It's that feeling of walking in the door after a long day, throwing your bag down, and lying flat on the living-room floor. It also works for wet laundry or mud slapping onto the ground. The dictionary spelling is 철퍼덕, but people say 철푸덕 a lot too.
